I started my venture into the music world at age 4. My father was a musician and played in honky-tonks through out middle Tennessee in the 30s and 40s. Not long into my early childhood, I developed a love for the piano and guitar, both of which my dad played. My parents saw my love for music and pushed me further by enrolling me in piano lessons at age 5. Since then, I started alto and tenor saxophone at age 10 and guitar at age 12. When I graduated high school, I attended M.T.S.U in Tennessee to study recording engineering. At that time, there where only two schools in the country that taught that curriculum. Full Sail and M.T.S.U. I left school after a year and went on the road with a local Nashville band that was working the club circuit. At that time, the live club scene was big and MTV had just started. So, at the time, it was a steady income until the era changed. During the 90's, I solely worked on my writing skills and by 2000, I had gotten into computers and switched my recording setup from tape to digital. I started using Pro Tools in 1999 as a free version and as time went by, I am still with them. In 2004, I attended Berklee College of Music's online music production curriculum. I really got a grasp of the basics, but learned nothing about sub groups, macro mixing, micro mixing and mastering. Along the way I started using Logic Pro in 2004, just after Apple bought it from eMagic. Recently I have made the switch from Pro Tools to Universal Audio's Luna recording system. It is not a DAW, even though it runs on your computer. The information I have gathered at Full Sail is priceless to me and this being the end of this journey and on to the next, I'm thankful to have the privilege of getting my degree at Full Sail University.
